The day began with the Eucharistic celebration at 7.15 a.m celebrated by Rev. Fr Joswin D Souza and concelebrated by Rev Fr Anil D Mello , Parish Priest.
Then the vibrant ICYM organised the Independence Day on the Church Ground to pay tribute to all the freedom fighters and to remember their contribution for the Independence of India. The majestic tri-colour National Flag, symbol of sovereignty, integrity, and solidarity was reverentially unfurled by Rev Fr Anil D Mello, our Parish Priest. Heart-stirring National Anthem was sung. The nationalistic renditions by the youth choir, the invigorating address by Mrs. Gretta Vas Block Resource Person, Mangalore South, reminisced with reverence the struggle made by our leaders, freedom fighters and Vir jawans. In her brief and bright speech, she underlined the need of understanding our capabilities to contribute more to the country, take pride in being an Indian and fulfilling one’s duty with responsibility. She also emphasized the role of youth today as the true wealth of a country which charged the atmosphere with patriotic spirit.
Pawan Pinto compeered the programme with precision. Mrs. Molly Baptist Principal of St Liguori School proposed the Vote of thanks.
