Confraternity Sunday in Neermarga Parish

St. Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga observed Confraternity Sunday which is also called Compri Fest on Sunday, 27th November 2022 with gaiety and devotion.
The source and summit of the Christian life that is the celebration of the solemn Mass was concelebrated by Rev Fr. Anil D Mello – Parish Priest with Rev Fr Roshan Crasta-Administrator of FMHMCH & HPD.
In his homily, Rev Fr Roshan Crasta accentuated on the meaning of Eucharist and its Significance, Advent and the ways in which one could spiritually prepare for the coming of the Lord. Further he said ,”Walking in the light of the Lord includes longing for peace, praying for peace and working for peace”- beautifully elucidated with the help of the story of “Three Youth Devils”. Following the end of the mass, Rev Fr Anil D Mello placed the weekly announcements and thanked the main celebrant of the mass Rev Fr. Roshan Crasta, photographers- Sheldon Loy Peres and Aron Welroy Nazareth and the volunteers for their selfless services for the success of Compri fest celebration. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament was conducted by Fr. Anil D Mello that aided the faithful to be inserted more deeply into the communion of the Mystical Body. Thereafter, The grand Eucharistic procession commenced. The Blessed Sacrament was taken in a motorcade with the brass band playing tunes of various hymns, The choir singing the Eucharistic hymns and Brother Rakesh leading. the Prayers both in Konkani and Kannada . The path of the motorcade was decorated with colourful banners bearing the quotations from the Gospel and cloth buntings. By this public witness of faith, the parish invited people in the community to encounter the Risen Lord present in the Eucharistic Host. For those who participated in the procession, it was an opportunity not only to proclaim their faith but also to grow in their faith.
At the end of the procession, Solemn Eucharistic Benediction was given as the final blessing. Attention and care given by Fr. Anil to planning and in the execution of a reverent and lovely procession is commendable .
