Newly Ordained Priest Fr. Royal Saldanha celebrates Thanksgiving Mass

Royal Saldanha, son of the late Cyprian Saldanha and Alice Saldanha, deacon was ordained priest with Five other deacons by Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese at Divine Mercy Church, Fatima Retreat House, Jeppu on Saturday, October 8.
The newly ordained celebrated his First Thanksgiving Mass in his native church on Monday ,10th October with Parish Priest and a good number of con-celebrating priests of The Society of Jesus of North Eastern Province and Karnataka, Family, Friends, Relatives, Religious and Parishioners.
On Sunday, 16th October Rev Fr Royal Saldanha celebrated Holy Mass at 7.15 am followed by short felicitation programme organized by Rev Fr Anil D Mello, Parish Priest. Mrs. Celestine Saldanha briefed to the congregation the early childhood and adolescent years of the newly ordained priest and 13 years of his experience in Jesuit formation. The Church Choir congratulated him and assured prayerful support and best wishes for a joyful and meaningful ministry through a Wishing Song. The newly ordained priest was then honoured with a shawl by Rev Fr Anil D Mello, Parish Priest, memento, fruit bowl, bouquet of flowers by Mr. Ravi Saldanha, Mr. Prakash Pereira -Vice President and Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council and Sr. Sujatha – Superior, Holy Cross Convent. Rev Fr. Royal Saldanha in his address requested the parents to guide their wards in obeying God’s call and to lead a conscientious life. He thanked Parish Priest and the Parishioners for their continued support and sought prayers for the success of his life and mission.
