A Day of Prayer and Reflection 

A day of Prayer and Reflection was scrupulously organized by Rev Fr Anil Canute D Mello, Parish Priest on 10th April, 2022.

Rev Fr Anil D Mello accorded an affable welcome to the versatile, dynamic Rev Fr Lawrence D Souza, Diocese of Shimoga . Rev Fr Lawrence in his first session spoke about Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving — weapons of Self Restraint in one’s battle against spiritual evils. Definition of Prayer, Almsgiving and Fasting, Process of Prayer, How to Pray, Where to Pray, Sighing Prayer of Man and The Healing Touch of the Lord, ways and means to practice Almsgiving, fast from social media, Technology, Anger, Gossip were underscored in the Light of the Word of God and thoughts from Pope Francis, Mother Teresa, Robin Sharma, Shakespeare.

The Second Session was on ‘Sin and Repentance’ wherein the Preacher vividly annotated the meaning of Sin and the difference between Judas and Peter through the capsulized anecdotal presentations, quotes and vignettes that enlightened the congregation to reconcile with neighbour and God and live life in its beauty and fullness. Further Rev Fr Lawrence reiterated the duties of the parents and children, important elements in a healthy marriage relationship and family values with reference to Amoris Laetitia a Post Synodal Apostolic Exhortation by Pope Francis.

Then followed the healing Adoration by Rev Fr Lawrence D Souza and Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev Fr Anil D Mello.

Rev Fr Anil expressed words of gratitude to Rev Fr Lawrence for preaching a meaningful Retreat and Mr. Norbert for the music that connected people more deeply to Scripture and Prayer.
